Warrington Township would like to invite you to participate in our Community Service Earth Day event on May 11, 2013. This is the Township’s 12th annual community service Earth Day event. The celebration will be held at the Twin Oaks Day Camp from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Activities will include building bird and bat houses, assembling rain barrels and compost bins, shrub and flower planting and painting of the camp buildings. Maintenance of detention basins, planted during previous Earth Day events, upkeep of the existing Rain Garden and Butterfly Garden and a cleanup of the Igoe Porter Wellings (IPW) Memorial Field, will also take place. We would like to invite local businesses and community groups such as Girl Scout, Brownie, Daisy and Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout dens. We also welcome members of the Central Bucks South High School Environmental Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, and the CB West, South and East German Honor Societies to also take part. All those who would like to participate are welcome. The rain date will be Sunday, May 12, 2013.

We would like to invite you to join us for lunch at the Twin Oaks Day Camp located at the IPW Memorial Field on Bradley Road, off of Folly Road in Warrington Township, throughout the day.

Other activities sponsored by the Warrington Township Environmental Advisory Council for 2013 include the Adopt-a-Road program; the Healthy Yards program that promotes rain gardens and naturalizing detention basins; and working with community organizations (e.g., the School District) with their environmental education programs. If you are committed to helping the environment and want to find out more, email us at [email protected] or come to a Council meeting at the Township Building the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm. You may also contact Ms. Ivy Ross at 267-482-0132 or via e-mail at [email protected].

Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to your participation in our Earth Day event.

Sincerely,

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
