WTWSD- Public Notice- Elevated Water Pressure (AUG. 23)

PUBLIC NOTICE FROM WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENT (WTWSD)

“ESTE INFORME CONTIENE INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE ACERCA DE SU AGUA POTABLE. HAGA QUE ALGUIEN LO TRADUZCA PARA USTED, O HABLE CON ALGUIEN QUE LO ENTIENDA.”

WTWSD Increased Water Pressure

The Warrington Township Water and Sewer Department (WTWSD) recently encountered an unforeseen emergency regarding our public water system that required immediate attention. As a result of this emergency, it was necessary to shift portions of the Township’s water supply over to Forest Park water (co-owned by North Wales Water Authority and North Penn Water Authority). This switchover caused an elevation in water pressure in these areas of the Township.

For those older homes that do not currently have a pressure reducing valve (the majority of homes in Warrington Township do) it is advised that homeowners contact a plumber to have one installed. The increase pressure in the system is likely to remain nearly the same indefinitely.

The actions taken by Warrington Township were necessary in order to ensure water supply throughout the Township. Without taking such actions, there would have been substantial areas of the Township without water which would have posed a critical risk to the public health, safety and welfare of our Residents.

Due to the immediate and necessary nature of the actions that were taken, this public notice is being sent to those neighborhoods most likely affected. It is recommended that you contact a plumber to determine whether you have a pressure reducing valve in your plumbing system, and, if not to have a valve installed.

This notice is being sent to you by the Warrington Township Water and Sewer Department.
