OPEN SPACE REFERENDUM FOR NOVEMBER BALLOT

The resurgence of development activity in Warrington, the Township's last remnants of open space are endanger of disappearing. And the Township has until 2014 to use approximately $350,000 in available County open space funds.

Therefore, the Board of Supervisors voted to authorize a referendum for the November presidential ballot, which states in part the following:

Shall debt be authorized…by the electors…for the purpose of financing the acquisition and/or improvement of interest in real property and to protect and preserve open space including farm land, water resources and watershed, forests, new and existing parks, recreation or conservation sites, natural or scenic resources, sites of historic, geologic or botanic interests, and open space between communities….
